The Retaliator is the fourth X-COM designed hybrid aircraft. It is the mid-weight of the X-COM fighter aircraft. With the right armament and equipment, this aircraft is very formidable in combat.
The Retaliator has two large 2×4 shaped weapon hard points on the sides, and one 2×3 front weapon. The equipment space comparable to a Hawk Air Warrior with a capacity of 4×4 equipment slots.
This vehicle is the fourth example of human-alien technology. All X-Com built hybrid vehicles use an inter-dimensional power source and do not have a removable engine.<br>
It is designed as a fighter.<br>
The large physical size of this craft may limit swarm tactics due to excessive friendly fire. The module slots are optimised to use four small shields.<br>
X-Com must recover and research an Alien Assault Ship before this is possible to construct.
The three large weapon hard points allow Retaliators to arm a host of powerful weapons including the Medium Disruptor Beam and the Disruptor Bomb Launcher. With enough of these, it's not uncommon for a small wing of Retaliators to shoot down capital class UFOs while taking minimal damage in return.
:1 Armor is given as Top/Front/Left/Right/Rear/Bottom. The in-game Ufopedia rather misleadingly displays only a single armor value, the sum of the values on all six of the vehicle's facings.
