This unmanned automated probe is designed to explore the Alien Dimension and has minimal armaments and defenses. The Probe will enable X-COM to test its new adaptation of the Aliens inter-dimensional technology. This vehicle is the first example of human-alien technology. All X-Com built hybrid vehicles use an inter-dimensional power source and do not have a removable engine. It is designed as a test vehicle for initial travel through the Dimension Gates and does not carry passengers, modules, or large weapons. The small weapon slot is suitable for an anti-missile defensive system or other very small guns.
The build and use of a Dimension Probe for initial exploration of the Alien Dimension is optional. Any hybrid craft can be used for this role.
