Skeletoid (Apocalypse)
Where the Anthropod forms the main shock troopers of the alien combat forces, the Skeletoid are the air troops. Skeletoids appear later in the game, and are seen in almost equal numbers as the Anthropods. They are identical to the Anthropods in function but the ability to hover gives them a tactical advantage in mobility. This allows them to hover high over gas clouds or even enter structures through upper level access points. They will never fall into or get trapped in ditches.
Skeletoids are one of the two races of aliens that can be manipulated by a Mind Bender.
