Pistol vs Dart Gun

The Dart Gun is a step down from the Pistol, like the majority of weapons for the Second Alien War. While it retains the clip size, the damage dealt has been sharply reduced, making this weapon unable to drop any alien but the lowly Aquatoid Soldier in a single shot, and it can only do that in the extremely rare case of shooting one in the back for maximum damage. The accuracy of the Snapshot has plummeted, and the TU cost for Aimed fire has been increased by more than one half.

Unlike the UFO Pistol, there are very few Commanders who consider the Dart Gun a useful weapon, apart from possibly for training purposes. (By definition, a weapon that is good for training is one that is not much good at killing aliens).
