When I was watching a Interceptor chase after a UFO I noticed it seemed to adjust its path every 5 minutes. If this is the case (didnt spend any time testing it to be sure), maybe the UFOs correct/alter their path on a similar schedule (if they don't reach their waypoint during that time). --Sfnhltb 13:08, 19 March 2007 (PDT)

I have not observed anything not explainable by the already-documented algorithm (great-circle until target latitude, then follow latitude).

Note that great circles take some practice with before they become intuitive. They're not Euclidean plane straight lines, so they do "adjust" compared to a simple straight line.
