M1903-A4 Sniper Rifle (Bureau)

The M1903A4 Springfield Sniper Rifle is the default gun for your Recon troops. Aiming automatically puts Carter into a Scoped view. As it is not a semi or full automatic, a round must be chambered after every shot (thus, moving out of the Scope view, and losing your aim), and an alien may move or fire back between shots. If using this gun, it's best to get into the habit of releasing Aim (right mouse button) to go back into cover, so you can keep an eye on your target and stay out of retalitory fire while loading the next round.

Naturally, the accuracy is exceptional. Essentially, if you can see the polygons of it's head, you can shoot it, even if it's behind cover. Like any other Sniper Rifle, headshots are the key to causing massive damage and conserving ammo (of which, it has a limited carry capacity).

It can be first accuired near the end of Groom Range, on the Nuclear Bomb test platform.
