Page rename

I have changed this page name to Critical Wounds (EU2012) since it more correctly represent the game-mechanic and content of the page. Death as a mechanic is not really worth considering except the "permadeath" comment. However how to avoid soldiers dying or how to manage with losses in your squad could be a topic for the tactics or strategy pages. --Kokkan 07:25, 19 October 2012 (EDT)

Stabilized soldiers subject to enemy fire?

While I have noticed that the AI will shoot revived soldiers, I've never seen it deliberately target stabilized-but-still-unconscious soldiers deliberately. Are we sure this is right? I have seen the AI kill stabilized soldiers incidentally with area-of-effect attacks while targeting someone near them. (Say, using a Berserker's Charge on the medic and killing the wounded soldier as part of the AOE damage.) Perhaps the original poster was confused? Arrow Quivershaft 20:19, 7 December 2013 (EST)

I've seen Thin Men using poison and Cyberdiscs using Death Blossom to deliberately kill unconscious soldiers. Hobbes 21:48, 7 December 2013 (EST)

Alright, then, I'll take that as confirmation. Guess I simply haven't come across it. Alternately, perhaps the AI only is that spiteful on higher difficulties? I haven't played Classic in a long time, and I get shut down pretty fast on Impossible(WELL before Cyberdiscs show up). Arrow Quivershaft 22:37, 7 December 2013 (EST)

I've never seen them just shoot one, but I've seen them grenade a stabilised soldier when next to a healthy one. I think they're not valid targets to fire on but the aliens will consider them when targeting an AOE. Binkyuk 17:09, 8 December 2013 (EST)

Chance to be critically wounded rather than dying

From XComGame.upk:XGTacticalGameCore.CalcCriticallyWounded it looks like the chance for a non-secondary-heart soldier to not die is:

(15 + Will - 40[ROOKIE_STARTING_WILL])%

or

(Will - 25)%

With a max chance of MAX_CRIT_WOUND from one of the inis, which I think is 90.

Also, it looks like the volunteer always just dies instead of going to bleedout. Has anyone experienced this?
