These are the source of ammunition for the Plasma Rifle weapon. It is powered by elerium, and needs 2 units of it to be created.

Beware - if you intend to use the Plasma Rifle frequently, be sure to stock up every spare clip you find. At a certain point the aliens will completely replace this weapon.
