Why I'm Here

Bla Part

I guess i was like five to seven years old when I usualy watched my older brother playing games on the family computer. Anyhow X-COM: Unknown Enemy and X-COM: Terror From The Deep were two of them. I got the idea of the game and thought it was great! Even tho the game probably is pretty difficult for a seven year old :) That's probably why i had to watch instead of playin it myself.

At the age of 11 I was able to spend my savings to buy myself my own computer. At that time it had 150MHz, about 32MB RAM and I guess around 2GB disk space. L-L-L-Lame but it was enought to play Command & Conquer Red Alert as well as X-COM TFTD.

Every now and then i played some TFTD as well as Unkown Enemy. The newer X-COM Series games just didn't touch me at all. They began to lame up the whole game and for me it died already with X-COM Apocalypse (btw: excuse my spelling, feel free to correct my english please).

I went into IT business and became a software developer. Well, i'm not that geek of a developer but i've made a few small projects and ajustments in Assembler, Pascal, Embedded C / C++, Visual Basic for Application as well as PHP (if you wanna count that). That gained knowledge i got from school gave me the chance to understand what's behind X-COM and somehow I slowly analysed some technical stuff ot the game wich i definitly want to share here on ufopaedia!

Vision

Like Dania, the guy i copied my profile from (thx btw!), some guys here have their vision of a new X-COM release. In my case I dream of an MMO version of X-COM because the whole game, and not just the missions, faszinated me pretty much. In my current business, (I'm working for an SAP Partner) - I'm gaining a lot knowhow about economics and processes. My aiming is to become a Project manager and one day found a new company or run thru a project that actually creates that game instead of just 'diggin' on it. Time will tell and usualy someone else comes up with those ideas first and fails to implement whatever in many ways :)

I think that's enought for now, gotta get back to work. One last thing tho! THANK YOU, for setting up ufopaedia. Let's gather those infos!
