How "civilians saved" is calculated

I suspect, but have no data to prove, that the number of civvies killed is somewhat random but tends to rise the longer it takes you to reach the site. The same applies, I think, to the other missions where civvies are around. Anyone know more? 4th Cuirassier 04:57, 1 February 2011 (EST)

As far as I'm aware, all civilians will be alive when the mission starts, regardless as to how long it takes you to get your squad over there (the aliens can be very considerate at times). There are a number of ways you can check this, such as using my battlescape editor (check my user page) to search for corpses on the first turn of play. -  Bomb Bloke (Talk/Contribs) 05:55, 1 February 2011 (EST)
