The Z-62 9mm sub-machine gun is of Spanish design (though it wasn't in service until 1963, a year after the game's timeline), is a small, handheld full-auto pistol. With signficant recoil, either a steady hand is required, or a target to be either large or close by. It is the default gun for the Support class.
It can be first accuired after escaping Groom Range: it will automatically be added to your resources as part of XCOM's armory.
