You have to remember that civilians lost to mind control OR unconciousness count a grand total of 0 points on the end-of-mission-tally. Basically you've lost the positive or negative score. Not a bad compromise, mind you. | |||
Although you might be better off mind controlling an alien - or spending another month of training (for a 0 - 16 point * (current psi skill / 100) bonus) to get to a point where you can actually use psionics to earn more skill and eventually total domination of your enemies. | |||

Is it possible to mind control civilians and use them as scouts/ decoys?
Yes, indeed, you can! But...
You have to remember that civilians lost to mind control OR unconciousness count a grand total of 0 points on the end-of-mission-tally. Basically you've lost the positive or negative score. Not a bad compromise, mind you.
Although you might be better off mind controlling an alien - or spending another month of training (for a 0 - 16 point * (current psi skill / 100) bonus) to get to a point where you can actually use psionics to earn more skill and eventually total domination of your enemies.
