The Aegis Armor is an improvement of our carapace design, incorporating a prototype elerium power cell to assist the soldier in shouldering such a heavy load.
A bit too expensive for what it brings to the battlefield though it provides great protection and can shrug off a heavy plasma shot.
It is best used on Shock troopers which will a lot of close-quarters fighting.
