Throughout the course of a soldier's career in X-COM, they will have the opportunity to accrue medals or commendations for personal actions taken, or taken against them. These medals do not confer any bonus to a soldier who is awarded them, but merely represent another way to track the accomplishments an individual soldier has enjoyed.
