Can anyone enlighten me on how this works in TFTD? The main article here is a bit vague. Is there a % Hit chance attached to the action, like there is with a firearm? Is the Melee Accuracy stat used? Is the weapon stat multiplied by the Accuracy stat, as per normal? Or is it just an automatic hit, every time, like the Stun Rod in XCOM Enemy Unknown? [[User:Spike|Spike]] 12:59, 9 March 2009 (CDT)

: Oh, it's in OBDATA.DAT at offset 41. Base accuracy for the Vibro Blade is 150% while it's 160% for both of the lances. I suspect the reason for the exorbitant weapon accuracy is to make up for the very low base soldier melee stat (20-40%). But even with this the BCTH still hovers between 30-60% with the Vibre Blade and 32-64% with the lances. --[[User:Zombie|Zombie]] 15:15, 9 March 2009 (CDT)

== Laser Squad holdover ==

Just a bit of trivia: I'm almost certain this stat goes back to X-com's spiritual predecessor, Laser Squad. In that game, every soldier had a Close Combat stat and all weapons could be used for melee attacks.
