The most expensive facility in the game (but worth every penny), the Transmission Resolver not only picks up any USO within its detection range, but informs you of the type, mission, and race onboard. Resolvers can only be researched and built after you have researched Magnetic Navigation.

The Standard and Wide Array Sonars have a percentage chance of detecting any in-range USOs with each sweep, but the Transmission Resolver will detect any USO within its range as soon as possible. Once this facility is constructed, all other sonar systems housed in the same base become unnecessary and can be dismantled.

With a detection radius of 2400 nautical miles, and automatic detection of alien craft, it is the ultimate tool for USO Detection. It adds one unit to your base's "Long Range Detection" meter, although that statistic is meaningless. Clearly there is no need for building more than one in any given base, even if there was it is likely that it would have no effect, as per the Sonar systems.

Inside the bodies of Aliens we have found small surgically implanted units. These are Control Implants designed by the Aquatoids to allow the constant supply of information from the battlefield, even at great distances. The Molecular Control Reader is an Alien communication device which is used to take information directly from M.C. Implants. X-Com units can use this device in combat to display an Alien's characteristics. Select the 'use' option. Then click on an Alien with the cursor.
Additional Information
The M.C. Reader is an alien device that allows you to remotely read the data from a target creature's M.C. implant. In game terms, this gives you a once-per-use peek at an alien's stat screen, revealing important info such as his health, TU's, and rank. Can be used on any alien (or Civilian) within sight of any Aquanaut. The Aquanaut with the Reader does not need a direct line of sight to the subject, but they will turn to face the alien. The Reader can not be used on Aquanauts, even if they are under alien M.C. control.

M.C. Readers must be researched before being issued to Aquanauts. The most common use of a Reader is to identify high-ranking targets whose capture is necessary for Research. Apart from that use, they are not vital battlefield devices. The Reader takes up 2x2 backpack spaces unless carried in a hand slot. It is not necessary to take more than 1 or (at most) 2 Readers along on missions.

Notes
* If the alien is nearly out of Time Units, you can move without fear of drawing reaction fire.
* If the alien is low on morale, it is likely to panic easily.
* If the alien is nearly out of health, you might be able to bring it down or stun it with light weaponry.
* If you do not have a M.C. Reader in storage when you complete research on the M.C. Lab, you will never be able to research it, nor develop the M.C. Disruptor or the M.C. Generator!

An X-COM/Alien hybrid armor suit which is available only after the necessary research has been completed. Usually this will happen mid to late game, as the prerequisites are Small Disruption Shield, Disruptor Gun and Personal Disruptor Shield. The research project is itself long and will take several days even with a fully staffed Advanced Quantum Physics Lab. X-COM engineers must manufacture this suit in pieces. The armor is extremely light and provides approximately 33 to 50% more protection than Megapol Armor. It has exceptional high explosive defence, and is so effective that it could be considered to outclass even the benefits of flight afforded by Marsec Armor. This armor is usually available mid to late game depending on how far your research has progressed.
Trivia:

Despite the Ufopedia picture, the armor does not, in fact, allow your Agent to use Kung Fu. However, it will give you a temporary feeling that your Agents are invincible like Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris. That will only last until they start encountering Entropy Launchers though.
