Currently all user made units are used as appearances for the chameleon. It appears that this alien is based on the muton because it leaves a muton corpse and has exactly the same stats.
Created by X-Com researchers long before the innovation of the flying suit. Due to a funding cut they were never implemented, but they are now being used to decrease the number of casualities on the battlefield. After all a machine is easier to repair than a human.

They implement an anti-gravity unit to fly and small jet engines for movement. They also feature storage compartments and can use the same equipment and preform many similar tasks to X-Com soldiers.
Currently not fully implemented - Zombie is avaliable in game as chameleon skin

Otherwise known as a 'Zombie' these creatures poses far more intelligence than the steriotypical horror movie creatures. The Zombie is the result of a parasitic alien organism that attatches itself to the brain stem of recently decesed homosapiens and attempts to prolong its own life through the destruction and infestation of new hosts. The Zombies need for new hosts becomes more apparant as the decomposition of the host corpse progresses. This generally causes the creatures to become more agressive and dangerous as their need for a fresh host drives them to murderous rampage. Zombies come in three distinct catagories each with distinct visual features:

* Stage one - A recently deceased corpse that acts as a regular soldier does.
* Stage two - The decomposition of the host is more advanced offering increased resistance to damage but decreasing the creatures maximum stamina and resistance to fire.
* Stage three - the creature is driven to near insanity as it searches for a host. By now the zombie has lost the ability to use weapons but can move far faster and has a very dangerous melee attack.
Base cost (with minimum stats): 395

Unarmored soldiers have the 2nd worst armor of the game, followed only by Sectoids. And, just like the original game it doesn't provide much protection against plasma fire or explosive ammo. But you can still implement the old "send the cheap rookie first" strategy, or the cannon fodder tactic.

Armour levels
* Front-  12
Standard Armor (a.k.a. "blue armor")
Base cost (with minimum stats): 705

Standard armor can be quite useful and is medium priced. It can be difficult to kill the wearer with only one shot, which causes a better survival rate. However, when single handedly facing a power suit it will be at a severe disadvantage. Personal armor can survive long range fire from enemies but it is somewhat vulnerable to quickly suffering critical injuries, which will limit the accuracy of the soldier.

Armour levels
* Front-  50
* Left-   40
Power Suit
Base cost (with minimum stats): 1105

The big X-COM armor. Units equipped with this armor are walking tanks due to their ability to take damage. Power suits can't be easily killed in one shot if they have intact armor on all sides. It is common for a soldier in a power suit to take hits on several locations and still stand until the a hit strikes it at an already damaged location. It is nessasary to concentrate large amounts of firepower onto one location to kill them.
The power suits are vulnerable at close distances because even their armor isn't enough to protect them from laser/plasma rifles' auto fire at point blank range. Their cost limits their numbers, which can be a disadvantage, in part because power suits can be taken down more easily if they becomes outnumbered by less-armored units.

Armour levels
* Front- 100
* Left-   80
* Right-  80
* Rear-   70
* Under-  60
Flying Suit
Base cost (with minimum stats): 1355

Flying suits are power suits with the ability to fly and extra armor. The first characteristic can make them able to preform a variety of roles. However, cover is necessary to prevent enemy units to spot them on the air. Otherwise, if they're hovering on the open they are easy targets (the proverbial duck on the water).

Armour levels
* Front- 110
Aliens
Sectoid
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 353

Sectoids are your standard little green man type alien. They have extremely low armor values, but it is matched by an equally low cost. Sectoids won't stand up in a firefight, but they do serve as good scouts.

Armour levels
* Front-   4
* Left-    3
* Right-   3
* Rear-    2
* Under-   2
Muton
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 905

Mutons are large, scary aliens who can easily take a bruising and still fight back. They are the perfect addition to a team which requires some muscle or plans to get shot up. Mutons are a good choice if you don't want to spend the points for power or flying armor
but you also want decent armor.

Armour levels
* Front-  70
* Left-   60
* Right-  60
* Rear-   50
* Under-  50
Snakeman
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 605

Snakemen are predatory hunters who have armor that is just below human standard armor. They are good filler in any team because they have a low point value and only marginally sub par armor. Let's face it though, you should throw at least one snakeman onto your team for the pure cool factor that they provide.

Armour levels
* Front-  40
* Left-   30
* Right-  30
* Rear-   20
* Under-  20
Ethereal
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 955

Ethereals are strange cloaked aliens who have slightly better than standard armor and the ability to fly. This gives them a strong amount of versitiliyy when it comes to the roles they can play.

Armour levels
* Front-  60
* Left-   50
* Right-  50
* Rear-   40
* Under-  40
Floater
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 615

Floaters are the cheapest flying unit in the game. Unfortionately this means that there armor isn't going to do them much more than humans with no armor. They make excellent scouts due to their mobility, and because explosions do not travel up they are excellent for hovering over the enemy and blowing them up.

Armour levels
* Front-  20
The Chameleon
Currently all user made units are used as appearances for the chameleon. It appears that this alien is based on the muton because it leaves a muton corpse and has exactly the same stats.

Currently available appearances:

*Ethereal
*Soldier
*Soldier (female)
*Lunarsuit
*Zombie (3 variants)
Created by X-Com researchers long before the innovation of the flying suit. Due to a funding cut they were never implemented, but they are now being used to decrease the number of casualities on the battlefield. After all a machine is easier to repair than a human.

They implement an anti-gravity unit to fly and small jet engines for movement. They also feature storage compartments and can use the same equipment and preform many similar tasks to X-Com soldiers.

Re-animated Hoarde

Unarmored soldiers have the 2nd worst armor of the game, followed only by Sectoids. And, just like the original game it doesn't provide much protection against plasma fire or explosive ammo. But you can still implement the old "send the cheap rookie first" strategy, or the cannon fodder tactic.

* Front-  50

* Front- 100
* Left-   80
* Rear-   70
* Under-  60

* Front- 110
* Rear-   80
* Under-  70

Aliens
Sectoid
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 353

Sectoids are your standard little green man type alien. They have extremely low armor values, but it is matched by an equally low cost. Sectoids won't stand up in a firefight, but they do serve as good scouts.

Armour levels
* Front-   4
* Left-    3
* Right-   3
* Rear-    2
* Under-   2

* Front-  70
* Left-   60
* Right-  60
* Rear-   50
* Under-  50

* Front-  40
* Left-   30
* Right-  30
* Under-  20

Ethereal
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 955

* Right-  50
* Rear-   40
* Under-  40

Floater
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 615

Flying suits are power suits with the ability to fly and extra armor. The first characteristic can make them able to preform a variety of roles. However, cover is necessary to prevent enemy units to spot them on the air. Otherwise, if they're hovering on the open they are easy targets (the proverbial duck on the water).

Sectoids are your standard little green man type alien. They have extremely low armor values, but it is matched by an equally low cost. Sectoids won't stand up in a firefight, but they do serve as good scouts.

Mutons are large, scary aliens who can easily take a bruising and still fight back. They are the perfect addition to a team which requires some muscle or plans to get shot up. Mutons are a good choice if you don't want to spend the points for power or flying armor
but you also want decent armor.

Snakemen are predatory hunters who have armor that is just below human standard armor. They are good filler in any team because they have a low point value and only marginally sub par armor. Let's face it though, you should throw at least one snakeman onto your team for the pure cool factor that they provide.

Ethereals are strange cloaked aliens who have slightly better than standard armor and the ability to fly. This gives them a strong amount of versitiliy when it comes to the roles they can play.

Armour levels
* Front-  60

Floaters are the cheapest flying unit in the game. Unfortinately this means that there armor isn't going to do them much more than humans with no armor. They make excellent scouts due to their mobility, and because explosions do not travel up they are excellent for hovering over the enemy and blowing them up.

* Front- 100

Aliens
Sectoid
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 353

Sectoids are your standard little green man type alien. They have extremely low armor values, but it is matched by an equally low cost. Sectoids won't stand up in a firefight, but they do serve as good scouts.

Armour levels
* Front-   4
* Left-    3
* Right-   3
* Rear-    2
* Under-   2

Muton
Base cost (with minimum stats) : 905

Mutons are large, scary aliens who can easily take a bruising and still fight back. Mutons are the perfect addition to a team which requires some muscle or plans to get shot up. Mutons are a good choice if you don't want to spend the points for power or flying armor
but you also want decent armor.

Armour levels
* Front-  70
* Left-   60
* Right-  60
* Rear-   50
* Under-  50

Flying suits are power suits with the ability to fly and extra armor. The first characteristic can make them able to preform a variety of roles. However, cover is necessary to prevent enemy units to spot them on the air. Otherwise, if they're hovering on the open they are easy targets (the proverbial duck on the water).

Currently all stats for the units fall between 50 and 80 with the exception of strength which costs double points and falls between 25 and 40. To increase one statistic you must first decrease another statistic.

=====Time Units===== determine how many actions a unit can preform in one turn. Different actions have different time unit costs. It is always recommended that you give your units as many time units as possible so that they can move more often. It doesn't affect how many times they can fire since that is determined by a percentage over the total TUs of the unit.

=====Stamina===== is the physical endurance of the unit. As the unit moves, its stamina goes down. A unit will not be able to move if its stamina is decreased too far.

=====Health===== determines how much damage a unit can take before dying. This statistic is important for all units, but it should be very high for squad leaders in games such as assassination and escape.

=====Bravery===== is automatically set to zero under current game settings. In the current version of the game it has no impact.

=====Reactions===== determines the unit's ability to fire during the opponent's turn if an enemy is visable. This is very useful for scouts.

=====Firing===== determines the unit's accuracy with firearms.

=====Throwing===== determines the unit's accuracy when throwing.

=====Strength===== represents the amount of weight which the unit can carry. A high strength is often necessary for units equipped with heavy weapons. The strength statistic costs double points.

Currently all stats for the units fall between 50 and 80 with the exception of strength which costs double points and falls between 25 and 40. To increase one statistic you must first decrease another statistic.

Time Units determine how many actions a unit can preform in one turn. Different actions have different time unit costs. It is always recommended that you give your units as many time units as possible so that they can move and shoot more often.

Stamina is the physical endurance of the unit. As the unit moves, its stamina goes down. A unit will not be able to move if its stamina is decreased too far.

Health determines how much damage a unit can take before dying. This statistic is important for all units, but it should be very high for squad leaders in games such as assassination and escape.

Bravery is automatically set to zero under current game settings. In the current version of the game it has no impact.

Reactions determines the unit's ability to fire during the opponent's turn if an enemy is visable. This is very useful for scouts.

Firing determines the unit's accuracy with firearms.

Throwing determines the unit's accuracy when throwing.

Strength represents the amount of weight which the unit can carry. A high strength is often necessary for units equipped with heavy weapons. The strength statistic costs double points.

General purpose weapons
General purpose weapons usually fall into 3 categories: pistols, rifles and heavy rifles.
Their accuracy can vary from low/medium to high and they make up most of a squad's equipment because of their versatility and their ability to be used at all ranges.

- In general pistols are less expensive than rifles and can be fired more during a turn but their accuracy is worse than rifles.
- Rifles possess auto fire capability but their power is lower than heavy rifles.
- Plasma is the best non-explosive weapon in the game. Unfortunately it is also the most expensive and the ammo load can be limited (although it might not be necessary to bring extra clips if you manage to conserve its ammo).
- Laser is cheaper and has unlimited shots. But it is less powerful and has worse accuracy than plasma weapons.

Sniper weapons
----

Area weapons
Area weapons are any firing weapon which discharges a High Explosive/Incendiary/Smoke round. They include cannons, grenade and rocket launchers.

Area weapons should be used for 3 purposes:
# soften up an enemy's armor (by close-by hits)
# destroy its cover (to allow for the general purpose weapons to hit without being stopped)
# create smoke to cover the movement of your units.

It can be difficult to kill an armored enemy by simply using area weapons, depending on the weapons' accuracy and the target's armor.

* Rocket Launcher is very powerful but the rockets are very expensive. And a Large Rocket will usually NOT ensure a kill if the target has undamaged power or fly armor.
* Auto Cannon vs. Heavy Cannon. 1) AC has auto ability, poor accuracy and lower power but it costs less. 2) HC has no auto ability and is more expensive but has better accuracy and power.
* AC is good for firing blindly into an area, without mattering if it scores a direct hit or not. It is also good for close range fighting (a 3 shot auto burst of AP shells will kill a power suit) but unless you equip your assault guys with it you won't need any AP shells. 4) HC fires fewer shots than AC on a turn (due to lack of auto fire) but you will be able to direct better your fire. Also, 3 direct hits will kill a power suit.
* Area weapons should be used for 3 purposes: 1) soften up an enemy's armor (by close-by hits); 2) destroy its cover (to allow for the general purpose weapons to hit without being stopped); 3) create smoke to cover the movement of your units.
Objective
Player 1: Kill the enemy leader (the 2nd player's first soldier on his/her list)

Player 2: Keep your leader alive until the end of the game

Deployment Types
Surrounded

During a game of assassination the second player (defender) begins the game surrounded by his opponent. The first soldier the defender selects is his "leader." The game is over if the leader dies or if the attackers have no remaining troops. The leader is visible on the attacker's minimap. The player who is surrounded has the obvious disadvantage under normal conditions. It is suggested that the attacker take a significantely lower point value of troops, or that a strict turn limit be placed on the battle.

Options
* To limit 2nd player's leader to only carry single handed weapons.

Tips
There are several options to enhance the survival chances of the 2nd player:

* The battlefield must contain plenty of cover. Otherwise the 1st player will only have to fire at long range to the square where the leader is positioned.
* Large maps (60x60 in the case of 15k, for instance)
* Set a number of limit turns for the game.
Welcome to the UFO2000 Wiki, a part of UFOpaedia.org. UFO2000 is a free and opensource turn based tactical squad simulation game with multiplayer support. While it has its own engine written from scratch, the game still relies on the data files from the X-COM: UFO Defense game.

The UFO2000 Wiki is meant to be a guide to the game, providing new players with a quick explanation of the game while introducing more complex tactics to advanced players. It will also contain information regarding how to costumize the game to add your own units, terrains and weapons, plus provide more technical details on the different aspects of the game.

Right now the Wiki is pretty much bare but that will change soon and for that all contributions are welcome.
For questions regarding how to edit the pages use the discussion tab for this page.

Overview of Search and Destroy
Search and Destroy is an all out bloodbath where either player can deploy anywhere on the map. It is a good idea to have two balanced forces with equal point values. The game is over when either side has no troops remaining. The game recommends that the exploration level be set to zero.

Currently all stats for the units fall between 40 and 80 with the exception of strength which costs double points and falls between 20 and 40.

Robotrek is a turn based RPG created by Enix in 1994. In the game you play a boy on the planet Quintet who dreams of becoming a great inventor like his father. He builds robots and creates ingenius devices to defeat the hackers and recover the pieces of the Tetron chrystal. Though the game was designed for children it is a blast to play if you enjoy old school RPG goodness.

During a game of assassination the second player (defender) begins the game surrounded by his opponent. The first soldier the defender selects is his "leader." The game is over if the leader dies or if the attackers have no remaining troops. The player who is surrounded has the obvious disadvantage under normal conditions. It is suggested that the attacker take a significantely lower point value of troops, or that a strict turn limit be placed on the battle. There is the option of limiting the leader to only single handed weapons.
