An evolution of the Assault class from X-COM: Enemy Unknown, the Ranger class boasts high mobility, the ability to use melee attacks after dashing, and the ability to utilize concealment to a greater extent compared to other classes. The Ranger class can specialize (if chosen) in two different paths: &#039;&#039;&#039;Scout&#039;&#039;&#039; and &#039;&#039;&#039;Assault&#039;&#039;&#039;. The &#039;&#039;&#039;Scout&#039;&#039;&#039; path focuses on concealment, stealth advantages, and adaptability, while the &#039;&#039;&#039;Assault&#039;&#039;&#039; path specializes in melee combat and mobility.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;A specialist ADVENT soldier wielding an electrically-charged baton/sword and a magnetic rifle. Their greatest threat is their fearlessness in performing dashing attacks with this blade: if it gets within range, expect it to rush you within the next turn, even foregoing cover and gun to attack a soldier. If hit, this weapon is capable of crits, disorientation, and even knocking your soldiers unconscious in a single blow. Flashbangs are helpful in restricting their movement. Otherwise, your best bet is to take out its cover and soften it with a grenade, then hope to finish it off with a crit of your own, or to use overwatch if they&#039;re in high cover, since their aggressive tendencies will lead them ever closer to your soldiers. Its main use of the sword should be met with caution, because if you run away out of cover, they may use their mag rifle instead.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
